New Zealand’s Inland Revenue turns on e-invoicing through MessageXchange to pay suppliers sooner

After the New Zealand and Australian governments reached an agreement on a common trans-Tasman e-invoicing approach in late 2019, NZIR became the first government agency to begin the journey to enable e-invoicing.

The focus for New Zealand Inland Revenue (NZIR) was to pay invoices early to help suppliers’ cash flow and to give them a seamless experience.

The main criteria NZIR looked for was:

  • a certified Access Point
  • the ability to connect to its Oracle Cloud ERP
  • the ability to map e-invoices to the native Oracle file
  • high service levels
  • a high level of security and robust disaster recovery plan
  • a competitive pricing model
  • a future-proof partner.

Now NZIR is gearing up to onboard suppliers and reach the target of paying 95% of invoices in 10 business days. Find out about their journey.
