New Zealand’s Inland Revenue turns on eInvoicing through MessageXchange to pay suppliers sooner

After the New Zealand and Australian governments reached an agreement on a common trans-Tasman e-invoicing approach in late 2019, NZIR became the first government agency to begin the journey to enable eInvoicing.

The focus for New Zealand Inland Revenue (NZIR) was to pay invoices early to help suppliers’ cash flow and to give them a seamless experience.

The main criteria NZIR looked for was:

  • a certified Access Point
  • the ability to connect to its Oracle Cloud ERP
  • the ability to map eInvoices to the native Oracle file
  • high service levels
  • a high level of security and robust disaster recovery plan
  • a competitive pricing model
  • a future-proof partner.

Now NZIR is gearing up to onboard suppliers and reach the target of paying 95% of invoices in 10 business days. Find out about their journey.
